Her research focuses on security in adaptive process-aware information systems. The goal is not only to develop specific security mechanisms but also to support security throughout the workflow life cycle. Further research interests are business process modeling, business process compliance, and security related fields in process-aware information systems.
She received a master’s degree in Business Informatics from the TU Wien (with honors) and a master’s degree in Computer Science Management from University of Vienna (with honors). During her master studies, Maria spent one year abroad at University of Alicante (Spain) and was working as a summer student at CERN and as an IAESTE trainee at University of Toronto. Since 2010, she is working at the Workflow Systems and Technology group at University of Vienna as research and teaching assistant and is enrolled as a Ph.D. student. Her Ph.D. thesis centers on security in adaptive process-aware information systems.
