NIST Researchers from the US Embassy in Vienna visit SBA Research and MATRIS Research Group

On Fri, Nov 8, 2019, Amy Mahn and Andreas Lerch visited SBA Research on a mission from the US Embassy in Vienna and were welcomed by Markus Klemen.

Amy Mahn is an international policy specialist working in the NIST Applied Cybersecurity Division. Amy’s primary focus in this role is support of the international aspects and alignment of the Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity. Andreas Lerch joined the meeting as a representative of the US Embassy in Vienna.

A technical discussion session was joined by senior researchers from the MATRIS research group (Dimitris Simos, Bernhard Garn, Ludwig Kampel) for an exchange of ideas. The meeting was moderated by Markus Klemen and the topics discussed focused on Austria’s cybersecurity landscape. Special attention was given to the research activities and tools developed by the MATRIS research group to find common interests with the visiting researchers from NIST.
