Online Talk: Let’s make our data FAIR!

On October 19th Tomasz Miksa held an online talk for 75 participants about how to make data FAIR. The talk was part of the event series “Research Data Management in Austria” which is aimed at researchers and / or people involved in research support and serves to promote networking and exchange on the topic of research data management, writing a data management plan and similar related topics.

Title

Let’s make our data FAIR!

Description

Following the FAIR principles, research objects should be findable, accessible, interoperable and re-usable. These principles form the basis of a trusted environment where researchers, innovators, companies, and citizens can publish, find, and re-use each other’s data and tools for research, innovation, and educational purposes.

The FAIR principles refer to any digital object evolving from the research process, that is, quantitative as well as qualitative data, metadata or algorithms, tools, software and services. It all sounds good in theory, but what can researchers actually do in their everyday research to ensure that their data comply with the FAIR principles? The workshop provides an overview and practical tips for getting started and making the transition.

Presenter

Tomasz Miksa is senior researcher at SBA Research.
