ERCIM Spring Meeting 2026
On 20–21 May 2026, SBA Research had the pleasure of hosting the ERCIM Spring Meeting at our offices in Vienna. Representatives from ERCIM member institutions across Europe came together for two days of exchange, strategic discussions, and collaborative planning focused on the future of European research in informatics and mathematics.
The meetings spanned two days. On Wednesday, 20 May, participants kicked off with Task Group sessions, covering Science and the Editorial Board, followed by the Strategy Task Group. The day closed with a joint dinner. Thursday, 21 May opened with the AISBL Board meeting, and after a short break, the morning wrapped up with a familiarisation session featuring presentations from our research center. We presented our research activities to the assembled ERCIM membership, an opportunity to showcase the breadth and depth of work happening here at SBA, spanning information security, machine learning, critical infrastructure protection, IoT security, and more.

In addition to the formal programme, the meeting created valuable space for networking and personal exchange among participants. We were delighted to welcome colleagues from across Europe to Vienna and to showcase SBA Research as part of the broader ERCIM community.
For SBA Research, hosting the meeting was both a privilege and an opportunity to further deepen our connections with leading European research institutions. The discussions highlighted the importance of cross-border cooperation in addressing today’s technological and cybersecurity challenges, while also fostering new ideas for future joint initiatives and research activities. Having this meeting take place at SBA Research reflected the strength of our European partnerships and our active role in shaping the direction of research across the continent.
