End of September, our colleague Georg Goldenits, researcher at SBA Research, presented his talk, “Kleine Modelle, große Wirkung? Lokale LLMs in der Phishing-Erkennung”, at the Mittwochseminar KI Modelle in der Praxis at Statistik Austria, following his presentation at the YoungStat Meetup in May this year.

The Mittwochseminar is a regularly scheduled seminar at Statistik Austria dedicated to strengthening collaboration and building a common discussion within and beyond Statistik Austria. This version of the Seminar had a particular focus on practical applications of AI models. The event featured three talks, including one by external speakers and two by Statistik Austria.
Georg’s presentations highlighted the potential of local large language models (LLMs) for phishing detection and contributed to the ongoing discussion about practical, effective approaches to AI-based cybersecurity.
