Women from the IT sector visit schools throughout Austria and demonstrate the possibilities of the digital world.
Why “IT Day” is important
According to the MINTality & FH OÖ study (2023), 50% of the female students surveyed can hardly imagine or cannot imagine at all starting training in the STEM field.
We want to change that.
Our children, grandchildren, nieces, and godchildren should not just be consumers, but creators of the digital world. They should create new things, question technologies, think about IT, and see what they are capable of.
What happens on “IT Day”?
On December 9, 2025, women working in IT will visit secondary schools throughout Austria for one to two lessons. They will talk about their everyday working lives, what fascinates them about IT, and the different paths that can lead to a career in the industry. The children will be able to ask questions, join in the discussion, and see what possibilities are open to them.
SheDigital will provide all participants with a guide for lesson planning.
