In October, our yearly partner and friends of SBA Research event IMPACT brings together experts, practitioners, and decision-makers from research, industry, and the open-source community. One afternoon to discuss the latest developments in security, AI and innovation, celebrate our long-standing relationships, and mark 20 years of SBA Research’s contribution to cutting-edge cybersecurity and trustworthy digital innovation.
This year’s program offers a mix of keynotes, technical talks, and interactive discussions – all aimed at fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration while reflecting on two decades of research excellence, impactful partnerships, and future-oriented innovation.
This years keynote will be given by Karl Olsberg.

Dr. Karl-Ludwig von Wendt earned his doctorate in the 1980s with a thesis on AI applications and has founded several AI startups. Under the pseudonym Karl Olsberg, he runs a blog and a YouTube channel and writes novels and non-fiction books about what he sees as the underestimated existential risks of AI. However, he is not an opponent of AI; rather, he advocates for a rational and cautious approach to the most powerful technology ever developed.
As part of the 20th anniversary celebration of SBA Research, the second part of the event will reflect on the past two decades together with our partners and employees. We will look back on important milestones, successful collaborations, and the people who have shaped SBA Research over the last 20 years.
