Mission Statement
At SBA Research, we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and respectful environment where all individuals—regardless of gender, nationality, religious beliefs, social background, abilities, age or looks—have equal opportunities to grow, contribute, and succeed.
We believe that excellence in research and innovation thrives through collaboration, openness, and the unique perspectives of every team member. Our mission is to actively remove barriers, promote fairness, and ensure that equal opportunity is embedded in everything we do—from recruitment and career development to leadership and daily collaboration.
Office of Equal Opportunities (EquO)
The Office of Equal Opportunities is part of the equality policy of SBA as indicated in the Gender Equality Plan (please see below). It is the point of contact for all equality related topics at SBA Research and therefore responsible for the annual update and reporting of the Gender Equality Plan.

Gender Equality Plan
Our Gender Equality Plan records all gender, diversity, and equality related activities of SBA Research as a living document and contains an analysis of the current situation, work steps and indicators for regularly reviewing the achievement of objectives. It gets updated once a year in early summer and serves not only as a record but as a management tool for equality related processes at SBA Research.

Female Researchers in Information Security Research
In Austria, the number of women working in information security research remains very low. As a research center committed to social responsibility, SBA Research is dedicated to increasing the presence of women in scientific and technical roles across all levels of our organization. We actively support women in their research careers and take part in, as well as organize, initiatives and activities designed to inspire and encourage women to explore careers in information security, e.g. SHECURITY Hackerinnen Training.
