AI5Production – Test Before Invest Project with Spusu
Spusu is an Austrian mobile network operator and operates as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) using the Drei network. Spusu offers premium-quality mobile plans at affordable prices. Since 2021, Spusu has also been fulfilling its role as a technology leader by expanding regional fiber-optic infrastructure using its own construction teams and fleet. The mobile provider currently employs more than 270 people and serves over 600,000 customers. Spusu is currently active in Austria, Italy, and the United Kingdom.”
As part of a “Test before Invest” project in AI5Production, SBA Research and Spusu have jointly investigated the extent to which open-source solutions can replace or extend current technologies in the area of security operations (SOC). A key focus was on anomaly detection in order to recognise potential attacks and disruptions at an early stage. In the project, a scalable and fail-safe test environment was created that implements essential SOC modules on an open-source basis. Part of the ISP infrastructure was integrated into the environment for the evaluation.
What is a “Test before Invest”?
A “Test before Invest” is a small-scale project focused on digitalization within a company. These projects typically range in budget from €30,000 to €40,000 and are carried out in collaboration with an AI5production partner. The costs are fully covered by the European Commission and the FFG (Austrian Research Promotion Agency). AI5Production handles the preparation and submission of the “Test before Invest” proposal.
