Andreas’ current research interests focus on Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) security, Security & Privacy in Machine Learning, and semantic applications to support information security risk assessment.
Andreas received a master’s degree in Business Informatics and a master’s degree in Software Engineering & Internet Computing, both with distinction from the TU Wien. For his master thesis on collecting and querying semi-structured data for the semantic desktop, he received the diploma prize of the City of Vienna. In 2011, he received a PhD in Computer Science from the Institute of Software Technology and Interactive Systems at TU Wien, exploring ontologies to formalize information security knowledge.
After graduating, Andreas worked as project assistant at the TU Wien and the University of Vienna, and project manager and software developer with SBA Research. Currently he also works as senior researcher at the TU Wien on industrial security and at the Vienna University of Economics and Business in an FWF project on semantic log analysis (SEPSES). He is a member of the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC2) and holds various industrial certifications including CISSP, CSSLP, CEH, MCPD, MCSD, and ISTQB CTFL.
