Franz works as an IT security consultant with a focus on penetration testing and technical security assessments. His work covers web applications and APIs, mobile and desktop applications, internal and external networks, Active Directory environments, as well as Linux and Windows systems.

He is involved throughout the complete assessment process, including scoping, planning, testing, reporting, presenting findings, and retesting implemented fixes.


Research Interests

His main interests are offensive security, web and API security, network and Active Directory security, Linux and Windows security, vulnerability assessment, system hardening, and secure configuration.

He is also interested in container and Kubernetes security, penetration-testing methodologies, and practical security tooling.


Bio

Franz is an IT security consultant with a strong focus on hands-on offensive security. He has experience assessing applications, infrastructure, networks, and operating systems in a wide range of security engagements.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in IT Security and is holding a master’s degree in Information Security, both from St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences. Linux has been a long-standing technical focus for him, both professionally and personally. He also teaches a Windows Hacking course.
