Corinna Schmitt

Corinna Schmitt

is key researcher at SBA Research. At the Research Institute CODEUniversität der Bundeswehr München (UniBw M) she is adjunct professor for Secure Communication Systems (SeCoSys) and the local contact point for the Nation Cyber Coordination Center for Germany (NCC-DE).

Research Interests

Corinna‘s research is dedicated to the multifaceted challenges of secure communication in complex networked systems in a wide variety of application areas on the ground and in the air. A core element of the research is the systematic investigation of secure architectures and protocols, as well as the development of concepts that secure networks and data management across heterogeneous domains. This integrative perspective takes into account transparent identity, access, and trust models and develops solutions that meet both efficiency and regulatory and user-related requirements.

She combines theory and practice in a convincing manner, which is shown in a high number of students joining her team for their theses. Publications reflect the scientific depth and diversity of  her work in secure communications and networked systems. From book chapters and articles in international journals to conference and workshop papers, standardization documents, and presentations, the results of projects and students‘ work contribute to the advancement of cybersecurity, IoT, aviation communications, and network-based systems.
