Research Interests
His research focuses on:
- Software protection and security (obfuscation, side channel mitigation, fault injection mitigation, software diversity, multi-variant execution)
- Software reverse engineering (strategies, modeling of attacks and of effort, use of AI)
- Code generation for accelerators such as GPUs from higher-level languages such as Julia
Bio
Bjorn De Sutter is a Full Professor at the Computer Systems Lab, Department of Electronics and Information Systems, Ghent University.
He has published over 100 papers in international journals and conferences, participated in more than 40 program committees, and received awards including the Barco Award for Graduation Dissertations (1998) and two HiPEAC Technology Transfer Awards (2013, 2018). His research has been supported by FWO, the European Commission, VLAIO, the Cybersecurity Research Program Flanders, and industry collaborations.
Before joining Ghent University, he led the architecture & compilation team at IMEC, was a faculty member at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and worked at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center.
