Dominique Schröder

is key researcher at SBA Research and full professor of Privacy Enhancing Technologies at TU Wien.

Research Interests

His research interests cover a broad spectrum of topics in cryptography and its intersections with privacy, theoretical computer science, and formal methods. Dominique Schröder is particularly passionate about developing privacy-preserving technologies that can be practically applied to strengthen security and protect user privacy.

Specific areas of interest include Privacy and Privacy-Preserving Technologies, Distributed Trust, Low-Entropy Cryptography and Idealized Models in Cryptographic Analysis.


Bio

Dominique Schröder is a full professor of Privacy-Enhancing Technologies at TU Wien, which he joined in the summer of 2024. His research focuses on advancing privacy-preserving methods and their practical applications.

Previously, he held faculty positions at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (2016–2024) and Saarland University (2012–2015). He earned his Ph.D. from TU Darmstadt and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Maryland.

His work has been recognized with several awards, including the Humboldt Feodor Lynen Research Fellowship and the Intel Early Career Faculty Award. He has also contributed as a privacy expert to the Health Committee of the German Bundestag.
