Julia Pammer

Julia Pammer

is part of the Strategic Partner Management, Communication & Events team at SBA Research.

Area of Responsibility

Julia is the project lead of the sec4dev conference series, a platform focused on secure software development. She is responsible for curating the content and managing the overall organisation of both the sec4dev Conference and the sec4dev Dialogues. These events facilitate the exchange of knowledge and best practices in secure software engineering among developers, academia, and industry professionals.

In addition to her role at sec4dev, Julia contributes to Shecurity, where she helps organise the annual Shecurity Summer School, an initiative aimed at promoting gender diversity in cybersecurity and supporting young female professionals entering the field.

Julia also chairs the ACM Chapter Austria, supporting academic and professional engagement with computing disciplines and helping to coordinate local community activities under the ACM umbrella.

Previously, she served as project manager for the FFG Lighthouse Project IoT4CPS (Internet of Things for Cyber-Physical Systems), which began in 2018. The project focused on the security, resilience, and trustworthiness of cyber-physical systems, bringing together research institutions, industrial partners, and public stakeholders.

At SBA Research, Julia supports the centre’s strategic planning and execution of communication and outreach activities. This includes the coordination of national and international conferences, workshops, and institutional collaborations with a focus on cybersecurity.


Bio

Julia received her master´s degree in Sports-Management-Media from the Univeristy of Salzburg and the University of Lausanne in 2015. She is currently working towards her bachelor´s degree in law and economy. In the past, she has organized several scientific conferences (ARES, ISWC, MACIS).
